2017 – Italy
Reports about our 30 day trip to Italy in 2017.
Day 5: Laundry Day in Firenze
No museums, no churches, no tours today. Instead, we slept in, washed clothes, and shopped. While mama didn’t get a brand new bag, I found a wallet in which euros – both bills and coins – actually fit (although there are now fewer of them to carry around).
Day 4: Where are Kevin and Steph?
A friend of ours suggested that we put some pictures of US enjoying Italy on the blog. I guess he has a point. Everyone has seen pictures of Michaelangelo’s David statue, but have you seen Kevin and Stephanie with David? I think not. So, here’s today’s version of Where are Kevin and Stephanie – Firenze edition.
Day 3: Coliseum, Palatine Hill, Forum, & Siena

One word – AMAZING! Just the detritus left from the world’s first large-scale recyclers boggles the mind. It’s hard to imagine “downtown Rome” as it existed in the first century AD. Continue reading
Day 2: Rome (in a day)
They say Rome wasn’t built in a day and we couldn’t get there in a day either! After a rain delay caused us to miss our flight in Charlotte (as we stood at the gate, glaring at the closed door of OUR plane with 30 peeved off soon-to-be-Amazing-Race-style rivals for seats on other planes), be rerouted to Rome via Heathrow, spend 8 hours wandering the halls of the the airport and arrived in Rome late Thursday night, we begin our trip with day 2 – Rome.
