Getting 8 folks from 5 states across the country together is not always easy, but when it happens, it’s worth it. The stop at a casino hotel in Council Bluff, Iowa last night was also worth it for one of us. Only one of the 8 will ride his motorcycle , a BMW GSA, for the entire trip, starting and ending in Virginia. I thought we’d have to buy him beer all week for this distinction, but the casino at our hotel shined brightly on Terry – he can buy his own beer all week…and maybe ours too!
We all drove at different paces and stopped at different places on our way to Rapid City. From the World’s Only Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD

To Wall Drug, a place my family visited probably 40 years ago (gulp), to the highlight of the day, a drive through the Badlands!
Thankful that everyone made it safely to our starting point, we headed to dinner in downtown Rapid City,

caught up after so much time away from each other and will head out in the morning for the first day as a group on this great adventure.
Thanks for following as we roll on 12!
Just read Day 0 and 1. Y’all all look great. Terry gets my “Hat’s Off Award” for doing the entire trip on 2 wheels and he definitely deserved the casino win! Love the pictures. It brings back so many memories of our trip there in 2009! Continue to STAY SAFE!
